SCA Continuing Professional Development Policy
SCA has developed a new CPD Policy to provide members greater clarity around their ongoing professional development obligations in achieving and maintaining their accreditation.
The SCA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Policy sets out the annual learning and development expectations for members across the strata sector, covering the 12-month period from 1 July to 30 June. The policy is designed to support members in maintaining current knowledge, strengthening professional skills and upholding high ethical standards in their work. It outlines how many CPD points are required each year, the types of learning activities that count towards CPD, and how points are allocated.
Members are expected to complete CPD across three key areas: technical knowledge, management and professional skills, and professional and ethical standards. There is flexibility in how these hours can be achieved, with verified, unverified and volunteer activities all contributing to the total. The policy also explains how to record CPD, what documentation is needed, and what to expect if selected for an audit.
Whether you're maintaining accreditation or working toward it, the CPD Policy provides a clear framework to help guide your development.
