2025 President's Award - Melanie Duryea FSCM

SCA (WA) is pleased to announce the recipient of the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗦𝗖𝗔 (𝗪𝗔) 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁’𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱: Melanie Duryea FSCE.


The President’s Award is a special honour presented to someone who has made an extraordinary contribution to SCA (WA) and to the advancement of our strata community. It recognises an individual whose dedication, insight and generosity have strengthened our Association well beyond the expectations of any formal role.


This year’s recipient exemplifies those qualities, having been a steady, respected and influential presence within SCA (WA) for many years, with her impact felt across education, governance, policy and national engagement. Mel's contributions include: 


⭐️ Extensive service on the Education Committee and Professional Reputation Committee

⭐️ Active membership on the Landgate Working Group, providing deep expertise on complex regulatory and policy matters

⭐️ A pivotal role in shaping SCA (WA)’s sub

mission on the Strata Titles (General) Regulations amendments, particularly in strengthening education requirements for the sector

⭐️ Six years on the SCA (WA) Board, including three years as Vice President, offering calm, balanced and thoughtful leadership

⭐️ Representing Western Australia nationally through the Government Relations Board Advisory Group and the Professional Standards and Membership Board Advisory Group

⭐️ Judging Strata Community Association Australasia Awards programs across multiple states


Melanie’s influence extends far beyond titles or positions. She has consistently championed professionalism, high standards and the long-term development of the strata sector. Her integrity, insight and willingness to contribute wherever needed have made a lasting difference to SCA (WA) and to the people who live, work and lead within our community.


SCA (WA) was proud to recognise Mel’s outstanding contribution at the CHU SCA (WA) 2025 Strata Community Excellence Awards held in November 2025 at The Esplanade Fremantle.
